Yup. Classic Typhlosion getting Scorching Sands as a TM, finally solving its coverage problem, was a clear sign they were going to give it a Fire/Ground Mega. But then the teraleak happened and they had to quickly switch it out because of the bad reputation Typhlosion now had as a rapemon.

It was planned. One guy at game freak was so upset that typhlosion was getting a mega he rushed out that rape story and “leaked” it so that Game Freak would be forced to cancel Typhlosion, but he was so stupid he leaked a terabyte of other stuff to.
