Mega Charizard X was a temporary transformation in just 2 generations and hasn't been in a game since US/UM.

You might as well be arguing that Chansey is ALREADY fairy type since it can terra in gen 9: it's a temporary change in typing that lasts a battle just like mega evolution does for Charizard X.

anyway whenever gf adds a new type they DO retcon old pokemons and moves. maybe chansey could be light type or something.

I swear to god zard was mono Fire originally and they changed it in yellow version but google says im fucking crazy. Granted, that's google fuck them they change information all the time.

It got access to Fly in Yellow. Maybe that's what's throwing you off. It didn't have it in R/B.

But Charizard has always been Fire/Flying. Then they introduced Typhlosion in the second gen and it has the exact same stat spread Charizard does minus the extra Flying typing.
