I'd imagine with this anime being a departure from many ashnime staples they'd replace the cast, or most of them anyway, with Captain Pikachu or something being the main fixture, if anything, but for all we know Liko could just become the new Ash if they don't want to risk Digimon-ing themselves, though the anime's popularity is still a far cry from its peak and pretty much tracks as well as JN did so I doubt that'd be a profound risk for them to take.
