OP is a wrongfag, but there should be more type inversion moves that just Freeze-Dry. There can be a water (not ice lol) move super effective to steel for example.

True but I've heard anons talk about a steel cutting attack for a while. Personally for me, I would love it if Sky Uppercut was retooled to not counter FLY, but be SE to flying types.

Steel is supposed to be good defensively. If you make it weak to Ice, Fire, Ground and Fighting then it's kind of shit. Those are all common, powerful offensive typings

Steel is weak to fighting because it gives fighting value as a offensive type.
Steel resists ice because that gives Steel value as a defensive type
Etc.

Steel doesn't need another weakness, but ice needs more resistances.
Steel should also not be weak to fighting, how many people are punching steel beams, jet fuel doesn't melt it.

Yes. While you can apply real world logic to fire/water/grass interactions, the type matchups are really about gameplay at it's core.
The fire/water/grass core covering almost every type in the game and getting checked by dragon type is intended design. They no players will naturally gravitate towards gathering all the starter types in to one team, and the game rewards them for doing such, until they run in to dragon types late game.

That's the funny part: For it's time and size Titanic was not so horribly build ship. But even the best ship of nowadays can't do shit when it hits the iceberg. It was the crew that decided to go full speed through region that was well known for being full of ice, but from what I understand it was a standard procedure during that time to just get through that shit ASAP and rely on lookouts in crow's nest... which obviously had kind of limited vision due to night time.

Funny thing is, if they just hit the iceberg head on, it would've taken way longer to sink. But because they scraped along the side of it, they ruined a number of watertight compartments, causing it to flood faster.

It's been a long time since I read about it, but wasn't the bottom of the ship structured like those cheap ice trays to the point where one section filled with water would tip the boat enough to fill more sections until the whole thing was flooded?

Kinda yes but kind of no. Most larger boats, even today, can take on some amount of water before they start sinking. So to your ice cube tray example, yes, the boat does have sections designed to fill with water in the event of an emergency. It'll still float even with some of these sections filled. The "kind of no" part to your analogy is the sections are NOT meant to leak into other sections. That's incredibly bad. They're specifically designed to prevent water from spreading. The problem was because the iceberg scraped the side of the boat instead of smashing into the front of it, it cut open a whole bunch of these sections, making the damaged ones functionally useless.

Like imagine taking and ice cube tray of water (not frozen). What would lose you more water? The front 2 getting smashed open, or taking a knife and cutting along the side of 5 of them?

They had multiple watertight compartments, I think about 15. It could stay afloat with up to 5 compartments filled with water, unfortunately 6 were compromised.
