Given the Switch 2's launching with a graphics patch for SV and a dedicated version of L: Z-A later in the year, they KNEW about this shit when it came to tease it, never mind the shitposters are right and Legends is the "experimental" (read "test games for open world areas or developed authentic enough cities, because kids are nothing if not predictable and bitched about the lack of buildings in SV after their issues with SS's open world were hammered out, thus Game Freak focused on building an entire city in a game, just to take building design in 3D out to the future games). So yeah, I'll believe the marketing, unlike when shilling a rehash, they don't have to hammer it with marketingspeak to make it seem different to get people to buy. It's set in Lumiose after the events of XY (AZ and Eternal Floette, sitting in a hotel living their best life) and (because it's Legends series and not "Pocket Monsters Series" like all the pairs, rehashes, anime tie-ins and remakes of various descriptions) will not and does not need to focus on the gym quest, as that's not the overriding challenge of the game (staying up at night to battle foo's with your pogyemans IS the progression bar, likely in tandem with whatever daytime events have you running around to collect Zygarde chits to boost your gift legendary pupper, seemingly).
This isn't Gen 2 on the Game Boy with Iwata making a compression program to fit the game on-cart only to find a buttload more space than assumed to work with, this is a one'n'done to get to Gen 10, had Nintendo not held back on S2 when everyone assumed it a go for last Sept, it'd be out already and we'd be at the start of a year drought, with NO actual game news on the horizon. There's not going to be any area outside thecity, because the whole point of it was to get a handle on creating built-up areas in 3D, not to go back and give XYgotes the missing rehash they planned then shelved to prioritise a new gen.
