I feel like Lucario and Scizor are pretty arguable, but who is honestly arguing that Beedrill, Manectric, or Aggron are anywhere near “just add more spikes”?
Manectric and Beedrill barely have spikes at all, with the former only having them as part of a dumb lightning bolt and Beedrill only really gaining a second set of limbs (which I doubt anyone with eyes would consider “spikes” beyond the most vapid sense).
Aggron only really gains spikes on its arms, both of which are small and unobtrusive. The rest of it is very smooth, if a bit weird and incongruent, and hardly spiky at all
