>>57810920>>57811046this guy is baiting, gamefreak doesn't even control the circuit lmfao
the american branch is the one that pushes the circuit. Nip TPC barely gives a fuck about comp, when they got to host worlds the event organization was dogshit
however
>>57811183 is completely correct, the current circuit rewards being a wallet warrior.
Of course you have to be a good wallet warrior, if you're shit no amount of money is going to make you grab points at majors. But it's extremely hard to make it as a poorfag. Although I have a poorfag friend who was so good he made himself a name in unofficial grassroots circuits and when he qualified to worlds, he traveled by crowdfunding many years ago
can't be helped though, any kind of solo discipline is going to demand vast amounts of money to compete seriously. In some ways VGC is similar to tennis and golf, also rich man's games.
>>57810909>>57810964Majors are played in best of three to minimize luck factor, of course it's not infalible but it helps a lot to filter the truly good. I always bring this personal example
>t. worlds competitor once (somehow)>be me, in round 1>game 1, I made a stupid mistake and threw the game.>game 2, I have my opponent cornered and I get screwed by hax. Set and matchI could bitch that hax robbed me from a chance in game 3, but the truth is that if I didn't throw game 1, I wouldn't have needed a game 3 in the first place. So, losing that game may have been bad luck, but losing the set was skill issue.
That's the lesson, you can blame luck sometimes, but you can't blame luck forever if time passes and you're still doing like shit.
