The first time I played Crystal, I surfed east from New Bark Time after my fourth badge by coincidence. Reaching the spinner seemed insurmountable to me as the language barrier really proved difficult for my 7-year-old brain (to give you an idea of how sluggish things went, it took me about 4 months to finally get rid of that Ragecandyfag blocking the road to Route 44). I do miss those times.
