I would like to apologize, you are correct that there was an implementation of sleep clause at that tournament. But this is really about whether or not its an issue that there won't be sleep clause at this next one. I looked through the archives for the example that you're talking about, and it seems to me that the issue was caused by retards not knowing how sleep clause works. I'm not sure what your stance is, cause i don't really know who I'm talking to at this point, but I think having sleep clause in a tournament with projected numbers of like 40+ players would be worse in the long run.

steer clear of the cobbleniggers (who are pretending to be team plasma this year), they're a fucking cult composed of obnoxious griefniggers, your best bet for dealing with them is just waiting until they get themselves banned for breaking the only rule
also expect autism, especially in the threads

aside from that have fun building, exploring, and training, and it's very worthwhile to attend tournaments and other events since they tend to give some kinds of rewards; maybe host your own
some tournaments are bring your own mons and some will give handouts; for the former I suggest looking towards getting a set of power items so you can quickly EV train mons to a PVP-ready state
also don't be afraid to experiment with different teams often, and especially don't be afraid to interact with other players (because otherwise you'd just be playing singleplayer but with server lag)

hermits are anyone who lives out in the wild alone with no intention of joining the rest of the playerbase. they basically play the serb like its singleplayer with chat on. hermits are reviled and you should never be one. most players will be fine if you join their town since there will be more going on. towns usually have poke centers and marts, different attractions, and some have gyms.

We do weekly tournaments on sundays, and the format is picked by the winner of the last one. Sometimes its just Ubers, other times its monotype or genlock or something.
People set up themed towns to encourage neighbors. Lots of people still live alone, but joining a town is really the way to go.
Towns also have gyms, which are unofficial and just other players wanting to do themed battles. They usually have a little puzzle before the battle too. There probably won't be any for at least a week, people need to get set up.
Its 4chan so there are so mega autists. Try to ignore them and they'll leave you alone. Their whole existence is getting a rise out of people, so they target people who complain. Its cringe.
Theres a bunch of other mods and we shuffle them every year. Some turbo autist picks them so we get like, trains and guns or whatever. I mostly ignore them.

People dont really hate hermits, we just say we do. People dont really like hermits but you're fine. And if you get griefed jannies will at bare minimum refund the stuff that's stolen, at middling they might do a rollback, and very rarely they've banned someone for it. In previous gens griefers have been rewarded and now we have a totally fuckass culture about it here, but it doesnt happen very often. There no claims but like I said if you get griefed usually jannies make it right.

Last year I had some blocks stolen and jannies just gave them back and banned the guy who took them. Then a friend of his blamed me for the ban, and used hoppers to rob my chest. Jannies also gave me my stuff back from that, and some extra diamond gear which it was early in the server so that was nice, and banned that guy too. I dont think griefing is much of a problem, anymore. Maybe a few years ago but these days its mostly fine.

if anyone wants me to set up in a specific spot, please tell me! my gym type is flying! it's a bunch of air ballons, a plane, and a huge blimp, all in 4x3 chunks, in the air, at build limit at most! I can also make the insides livable, so they can double as houses or meet-up spots!
my only problem is easy transportation- elevators between them or flying ridemons.
I'm bad at competitive, building is one of the only things I'm good at.

Which is a pretty easy to meet requirement and something you won't need to go out of your way for

People need a reason to pick your town to build in. Obviously. A gimmick, theme, idea, or aesthetic really helps with that. It also helps to have a pokemon center and some amenities that people can take advantage of, to provide incentive to come to you.

Some really helpful advice from someone who embarassed himself by doing the opposite:
Don't be that idiot who gets overly invested in the server early on, only to quit when something stupid happens.
Please pace yourself. You don't have to speedrun getting a fully EV trained team within the first few weeks, or getting full netherite equipment, or rushing to build an entire metropolis.

If you have literally anything to do outside of one minecraft server then you'll have a way to cool off *when* things go wrong, and you won't feel like you just completely wasted your time if you decide to stop playing for any reason (some understandable, some silly)
Another advantage of having other hobbies/games to play is that it gives you the advantage of having more inspiration for stuff to make on the server, which is always a good thing.

TL;DR This server isn't a race. Take your time and go touch grass every now and then. The server will be up for several months, you can afford to not be on 24/7 grinding until you burnout.

Regardless of what it was last year, I'm hoping jannies will make the starter have perfect IVs and either come with a nature that benefits the line in question, or come with a mint to rectify potentially useless/detrimental natures; in that case jannies should let players choose a free mint at the start so we can pick a nature
And if starter IVs aren't coded to be perfect by default on the serb, then we should get a golden bottle cap to fix that

Also it's the first tournament hosted a mere week after launch, it's far more likely that the fakemon ban is primarily due to the fact that not everyone will have full teambuilding resources a week in, and because the mechanical properties of various fakemon won't be fully discovered at that point so trying to include them in competitive tournaments early would be asking for problems

another tournament idea could be a draft tournament where everyone has a limited number of points to buy mons with from a communal draft pool, taking turns
once they buy their mons they'll have a period to customize them however they need and then they'll enter into the tournament with them
players in the top 8 or whatever get to keep their draftmons after the tournament as rewards to do whatever with
(also for obvious reasons ubers won't be in the draft pool)

Hard to do this in a way that works since all roads lead to bullshit, desu. If they're common spawns then your fakemons flood the server and youre shoving it down our throats and forcing your special OCs. But, if they're rare spawns, then if im hunting for a rare mon I need for days looking for the spawn and one of your fucking fakemons shows up taking up that spawn slot, I'm going to be missed. The best way would be to do special spawning conditions that players could experiment with and find out but wouldn't get in the way of regular spawns, or making them branching evos or something. But since you want so badly to be Khu and keep your secrets, its too late for you to hear any of this and do anything about it.

I'm still pissed that woobat and swoobat spawn in Savanna biomes- they're based off of honduran white bats, and should live in the Jungle! that's just my autism, though.

When cobblemon wants to spawn a pokemon, they roll a check for the tier. Theres a high chance of common, slightly less high chance of uncommon, etc. Once it determines the tier, it pulls a list of mons tied to that biome and that tier called a bucket. All mons in that bucket have an equal chance to spawn, and it spawns one of them. So, if you want a rare pokemon, and another rare pokemon spawns, you missed your chance and have to wait for the next rare roll. If fakemon are rare spawns, they go in the rare bucket, and potentially block out a real pokemon you may be hunting for.
