Meganium is at least cute, typlosion had no moves for at least 4 generations.

Gatr at least got huge benefits from the special split, dragon dance, sheer force life orb in gen 5 and things only got better from there as it's movepool and LO options increased. It will be fine.

Thunder punch stopped being an easy to access tm relegated to third games in emerald and platinum, platinum has the split making thyplosion most reliable coverage move weaker.

Thyplosion was only ever good in-game in GSC and even if you tried to run it in the third gen you had to wait till emerald for thunder punch a post game move.

Thyplosion was a joke in competitive, but was just sad to use as a starter in all ages after gen2.
