People should really realise the pokedex is not gospel. I sincerely doubt it is written by the same people who choose the movesets or design scenarios. Doubly annoying that people take things that it itself says is hearsay or legend as fact. Like Regigigas towing the continents or Shedinja stealing your soul if you look into it's back.

This was confirmed with the Teraleak. It's how you get slipups like Umbreon's dex mentioning biology from when it was still a Poison type, and they just never gave a fuck to fix it so Umbreon just secretes poison despite knowing no poison moves naturally, and is probably the sole reason why a lot of Dark Types still get to learn it after they massively axed its TM distribution.
