>>57834803>Just curious because there's nit alot of fanfare for him despite having been the face of the brand for the longest time.I think the way the writers handled his character left a bad taste in peoples' mouths over the years. The "great reset" at the start of BW, the league loss in XY, the second "great reset" in SM, the league win in SM, the way Ash just flew up the ranks in the PWC in Journeys despite the lack of on-screen training combined with the PWC finals, and then the way the series ended without much fanfare or closure in "To Be a Pokémon Master" series... it all led to a lot of disappointment, hate, and annoyance for anyone that stuck around season after season.
IMO, had the Ashime ended with Ash winning in DP, with a fresh new Pokemon anime kicking off the BW era, say with Hilbert and Hilda and other BW characters for example, Ash would probably be a far more popular and well-remembered character.
