From a financial standpoint, some pokemon are not even worth their trademark, so why does TPC not simply drop them?

oh, you mean pokemon sitting cuties? my favorite pokemon hasnt got one yet, and i fear its blades will be that shitty foamboard instead of just an unstuffed sandwich of fabric. Bisharp deserves a good plush, and not one with foamboard elements.

Because if they start slacking on any mon's trademark, no matter how unloved or obscure the mon is, then other companies will start smelling the weakness of the brand as its usual self-defense weakens, and begin pressuring and exploiting Pokemon's laziness for their own benefit.
