>>57859264Yes, you can drop the console nonsense entirely. I did it during the Wii and Wii U era to dedicate to college and still had plenty of games to play on PC without any real issue, but we are the minority.
We understand that sometimes a generation is a dud of mixed value where the best way to win is to not play, but normies don't.
Normies see two things, brand and cost.
Nintendo is perceived as a safe brand for kids that is priced accordingly so a parent can buy one and not feel remorse after it because their child is happy, the problem is that the switch 2 skirts that line where the price betrayal the idea people have of it.
Nintendo Man children wanted a switch plus, handheld enthusiasts would buy one and a steam deck just because they can, but your average Joe that is nostalgic over Zelda, DK or enjoys a party game being smash/kart sees the prices and actually backs off.
If Xbox or fucking Sony released a cheaper console to compete with the switch as an economic model it would destroy the niche Nintendo created and compromise the new prize point it wants to implement.
But again maybe I'm just attempting to justify the existence of another 299 moment to happen just because it would be fucking funny.
