There's a law in Japan states kids must wear safety gear on a bike and any new depictions (as in made after the law was passed, think pre-existing depictions are ok) of kids on bikes need to have the kids in safety gear. Game Freak went and made a pokémon bike, so they could get away with putting the MC on abike, without putting a change of clothes on them, as that pissed off older people TERRIBLY in Gen 8.
