Another fun thing I came up with.
Some of the OG Switch games you have to pay to upgrade to the new hardware also come with extra content (still not worth it), EXCEPT ZA. Soo it's not impossible they might introduce a last minute effort content to that upgrade. Could be anime related, but thats just speculating.

Because there is no interesting material for Liko and Roy to carry the show for two more year & half. Current anime already having a boring arc on Liko & Roy meeting each member of RVT again. Also if they want to promote Pokémon Legends Z-A then it needs to take place on Lumiose city. Fortunately the whole Team Flare incident makes a good excuse for Urban Redevelopment plan after Z2 and its dark Vine destroyed much of the city but Horizon most likely ignore Lumiose city due to its connection to past series.

I really miss pre timeskip. Shit has been going downhill since Liko vs Roy but Roy's team and characterization has been bad in the current arc. Having watched since the premiere, it's very hard to see Roy criticizing Uruto for being impatient and obnoxious. I can totally understand Roy becoming more mature, but Roy becoming this character who's ready to point out someone else's faults and insecurities is extremely weird.

Roy's being the worst doesn't make Ash's good. Also, Ash's was never really in contention to be the worst, because despite its poor storytelling and relative lack of personality, it still had a fun relationship with Cinderace and had a funny misadventure with Goh on Mega Island.

Not the worst Lucario (honor goes to Roy's) but still bad and some of the worst asspulls in battles the anime has ever seen.

I honestly doubt it.
Pokemon is too corporate to actually do anything non-standard.
Even with Amourshipping you knew it was never going to go anywhere since Ash was going to dump her as soon as the next gen anime rolled in.
If there was going to be any romance at the very least they would have had Liko interact more with Amethio like they originally planned.
I wouldn't be surprised that the reason why Amethio got so shafted in part 1 was, because they don't know what to do with him after his romance subplot with Liko got scrapped.

Romance seems to be exclusively used for NPC characters in filler episodes nowadays. Although random one-off characters having a crush on main characters is possible, like with Roy.
