It was only fun as a kid, as an adult playing it - especially when FRLG and LGPE exist - is a chore. The game barely works, has a ton of bugs and bad code that break the game to the point it literally does not function as intended (WAHH HOW DO YOU KNOW?! the official NINTENDO PUBLISHED STRATEGY GUIDE and the INSTRUCTION MANUAL both state that Ghost beats psychic but no, that's not true, it's the other way around in the game because the code is beyond fucked), the limited inventory and shitty inventory screen is a pain to manage, the movepools are pure unfettered ass, psychic type is OP so all you need is one to sweep the entire game solo since nothing resists or is super effective against psychic, the badge boost glitch exists and is easy enough to fire off without even trying making the game even more trivial to beat, the graphics are hideous, the spritework is dogshit...
Look man, just play Fire Red. You don't need Red Version. It's bad.
