They made a pokémon exclusively for furfags, spent a Generation ensuring they knew about her then moved onto the next Gen where they combined a shillmon with laser-targeted furry idols (Delphox and Sylveon) to ensure they got EVERYONE interested in Gen 6's offerings (and judging by how many little boys still ADORE the ugly reptile, they did a good job. Never could understand it fur > slime). But sure, Zoro wasn't a shonen hero clone of Lucario, thus it "failed" to interest testosteronless little boys, still not yet on the cusp of manhood.
