Imo the evolution is massively too late (fucking lvl 32) for you to ever consider actually raising a venonat up, but in FR/LG you can catch one at like level 40 in the sevii islands, and then you have basically a slightly slower but better at everything else Butterfree. Which at that point of the game isn't that great! Idk man there's not much to say.
