>>57885399Firstly, that's untrue at the first online Pokemon title was Japanese Crystal, and Pokemon games well after it went above and beyond to have more side content of different varieties. If you're only talking easily usable online then that's also not true as several DS titles go to great lengths to add extra content, DP is the worst and even then it's considerable compared to the online-less RS. But if that's the metric then yeah I dropped out after USUM, man that was a solid JRPG, shame about the whole being based on Gen 7 thing meaning I'm incredibly unlikely to do a playthrough until they add a cutscene skip or something, not to mention the fun Battle Agency being hamstrung by dead online. Better than ORAS's or especially XY's situation though.
>>57883270You're missing the Black Tower/White Treehollow, which is a lot like the Battle Pyramid, as well as Pokestar Studios, which is a lot like the Battle Sims that also originate in Gen 3 but not specifically Emerald. Interestingly, despite being a single structure, the PWT also includes a sort of Battle Factory type random thing which is a nice addition for variety but I'd appreciate it more if it were longer (something USUM's Battle Agency got right despite the other major problems). And if nobody ever got DS online working ever again (and the Gen 5 titles are the easiest to do it in) you can simulate human players via a PWT tournament based off one year's VGC. Maybe not as good as Emerald, but it also doesn't have the Battle Palace which I consider a win. It also doesn't include Battle Bingo however, so I'm going to have to dock every game but Gale of Darkness for that.
