GameFreak can make good games, they just choose not to for Pokemon for some reason.
This game clear is magnitudes above Pokemon in terms of polish, still flawed but way better looking than SV. This shows that GameFreak can make good looking games.
Why does Pokemon look like a PS2 game? I have 2 ideas on the reason why.
1. Most likely reason, they can get away with it when Pokemon is slapped on the game. It’s strictly more profittable to make every Pokemon game super low budget knowing full well it’s gonna sell millions anyways. Doesn’t matter if its unfinished, has shitty textures, or is a psuedo VN, it will sell and break records.
2. GameFreak are tired of doing Pokemon and are deliberately kill it off. You know that Onion parody of Dominos making disgusting pizzas and being astonished that people still eat them?
I would not be surprised if GsmeFreak is going out of their way to make Pokemon dogshit each game, then being astonished that people still eat it up.
