>>57887720>Let's assume Beast [of] Reincarniation comes out to glowing reviewsThis is such a gigantic big leap to do, if they can not manage more than a "Mixed" rating on their first self-published game and there is a reason Sega and other publishers dropped them. Even if Microsoft is paying for part of this for marketing which I doubt heavily, what would compel this situation to even be remotely likely to happen?
But I'll humor you. If it got glowing reviews, they can possibly pass the buck and just keep ownership of Pokemon and not do anything else while someone else works on it at best. But at worst which is most likely, they will just keep making slop for Pokemon and making other hit games otherwise. If Pokemon fans aren't going to half self respect for themselves and demand better, you will never get anything better from them.
Gamefreak knows that the world outside of their fans and gaming at large doesn't buy putting "Pokemon" in the description and having it smash sales expectations. They know that time and time again, trying to sell a game on its own merits alone isn't enough for that audience and rightfully earns them derision and indifference to the wider world so they actually have to try so they are right now.
