..honestly, anon, it's probably because, to a lot of people here, pokemon as a whole is quite stale to them. that, and the main appeal for a new pokemon game is the new pokemon, and we have gotten zero regionals or megas at the moment. there's a reason why leak season is so prevalent.

sv and swsh are the third and second best selling pokemon game ever made tho and arguably the two most popular considering how people keep talking about them. Both game also get a lot of daily thread on this board.

the game's main feature is the ZA Royale, which we all know it's gonna be bad with braindead NPCs and boring ass unbalanced battles
the other one is real time battles, but we all know it's gonna be absolutely awful because it's Gamefreak
The game is set in the same copypasted city corridors with no exploration or sense of discovery
So yeah... i can see why people don't give a shit
