Competitive Pokemon just feels like it has an ounce too much RNG to be truly competitive in a satisfying way compared to other e-sports games.

The Pokemon battle system was primarily built for engaging battles in JRPGs and not for competitive play. Treating Pokemon as a serious e-sport is a bad meme.

Mostly because competitive events are a good opportunity to attract Pokémon fanboys in one place and shove plenty of merchandise up their asses. It all boils down to this.
