>>57907504i have zero idea where the "you HAVE to grind to the same level as your opponent" mentality comes from. after a certain point bringing new captures up to your team's level is fucking asscheeks thanks to low wild mon levels but you can absolutely win battles in any RPG being a few levels under, hell half the time big RPG boss fights ARE higher level than your team, that's why they're the boss. this isn't even mentioning that unless you're doing a solo challenge you've likely got the numbers advantage, so of course you're gonna be a few levels lower.
it's optimal for nuzlockes or other challenge runs where you wanna play it as safe as possible but if you're doing a casual playthrough who gives a shit
