Now I’m not gonna type here and claim to be a Japanese puritan because I use the English localized names of the Pokemon but those are more like animal names, like they’re not proper nouns, if you will. A cow is vaca but that’s not a name, per se. Now Green is his name, I don’t care what the official localized name is because he true name given to him originally is and always will be Green.
It’s way better too, cause even in the west we got Fire Red and Leaf Green and green is the official contrast color i.e. the opposite color of red. So his name is Green.
