DP
>extremely shitty Pokemon distribution in general
>mediocre map design at best, actively wastes your time at worst
>extremely basic aesthetics, to the point of being distracting in the case of Lost Tower
>performance and occasionally design decisions just make the game fucking miserable to even play
>AI basically doesn't fucking work at all outside the Battle Tower, only difficulty is a level spike at the end
RS
>the late game map design is borderline experimental and the encounter table kind of goes to shit unless you actively go out of your way, even then there's neat stuff to explore if you can put up with it
>basically zero post-game and the Battle Tower is extremely unrewarding
>the GBA itself has a number of problems (screen, link cable) that negatively impact the game but that's only sort of the game's fault
>maybe something about the way the rest of the map flows gets your autism up in a dander
And that isn't even getting into the fact that RS is a stand out in micro and macro map design and has solid encounter tables through most of the game, which are actual positives that you run into frequently. What does DP have? Online where the only way to play it now is set your WiFi to some unsecure bullshit, and it's even slower than regular gameplay? Actually having a post-game? It's a lot less in comparison, especially if you're just replaying the game. This isn't like Gen 1 where the jank can be fun and you can mostly skip the part with shitty game design.
