I grew up on pokemon, all my nintendo consoles/handhelds were exclusively for Pokemon games, going back to play 'the top 50 gameboy games' in 2025 I'm shocked thisi s all anyone was doing????
Pokemon was a whole ass journey, a JRPG with 150 usable characters, every playthrough was different, the head cannon was different, playing while surrounded by Pokemon merch and cards and the tv show and the movies etc was insane
And then listening to video game podcasts talk about the Gameboy era, they're older than me, pushing 40, I'm 32, they're talking about fucking Donkey Kong, Mario and Kirby games, I can't even imagine the comparison between those jumping on points to games
