You can use the fan servers for trading.
Inject the mon of you are that kind of player.
Or set up ACE in diamond/pearl then transfer that to platinum if you are deranged enough to go for that

There's a fully documented guide for Diamond/Pearl and the same for the transfer process for Platinum
There's also a vid called "the infinite shiny manaphy glitch" which explains how to set up ASE (not ACE but the difference is miniscule and you can achieve ACE proper latter)
