For the ESLs, you DO play the games in English, right? Like an adult? After the age of 12, you shouldn't need your old language as a crutch anymore.

I only started playing in English cause I was tired of having to learn two sets of Pokémon and character names, abilities, attack names, etc. I'm too old for that shit.

The only other worthwhile language to learn Pokemon in is Japanese since it's a Japanese franchise. Any localization beyond Japanese and English might as well be as canon as Star Wars spinoffs

Only cause it strains my brain less. I do dislike how the English localization is sometimes more fanfic than translation with how much they change the tone of certain sentences. Let's not even talk about censorship. Fucked up how much dialogue they censored with the Ferris wheel conversations in gen 5. Glad I played those in German.
