It stands to reason that a game set on what is considered the most romatic city in the world will have some of that sprinkled in, particularly since GameFreak made sure the rival is always the opposite sex (fags btfo by conservative old nips once again kek) and is not just 'the MC the player didn't pick' like in XY.
