It might be not worth mentioning until you notice more similiar details, weird dialogue etc. that makes you wonder how the world works. Not to uncover some secret lore, but in favor of immersion.

Maybe I'm confusing it with the "Pokéworld =/= real world" topic, where GF claims the Pokéworld is its own thing, there are no animals etc., but then you have real life fruits (despite GF going through the effort of making Pokéworld equivalents) and regions resembling their real life counterparts. Which can be also applied to negative topics.
