I am trying to get the Ice Beam TM for my Kingdra but of course I have to play Voltorb Flip. I know how to play but most of the time you HAVE to guess, which is just endless frustration. And when you lose there is always a chance that you go back to Level 1. I would have tolerated Voltorb Flip much better if it wasn't for the price of the TMs: TEN THOUSAND FUCKING COINS.
Also, after the 4th gym, regular trainers become underleveled, which kinda annoying but also useful because I had to catch and train two pokemon (Cubone and Horsea). On the other hand, I was always underleveled against gym leaders, which I really like and Jasmine was actually tough.
The Team Rocket story was so lame. You fight them before the 2nd and 7th gyms (barely anything in between) and then you go back to the Radio Tower, which has one of the most disappointing Team Leader fights I have ever seen (Archer).
And finally the Safari Zone. I really enjoy how you can change the areas and add some decoration to get new pokemon, really interesting idea. However having to wait 3 hours between phonecalls is a bit annoying (I really wanted Cubone but for some reason, you can only get it there). It would have been better if it was 3 real hours and not 3 ingame hours. But the absolute worst is that some mons require MONTHS to spawn. I heard that there are ways to make the internal clock glitch, but since I have another hacked DS I don't think I'll ever use that feature.
Hopefully its enormous postgame should make up for it.
