Gen 4 is known for having no good designs outside the starters and the kanto/johto evolutions. As an og, Gen 5 had the best designs overall. There are some filler mons, being it added 50% more new ones than any Gen since 1, but it's mostly solid.

True, but don't ignore Haxorus, Hydreigon, Gothitelle, Chandelure, Bisharp, Golurk, Escavalier, Zoroark, Krookodile Scolipede and Cofagrigus. Gen 5 was badass, it's just most people had outgrown pokemon by then.
