>>58064228I'm glad you can tell more thought went into these, I've been redesigning them for years. There are still a few hiccups, but this is the most satisfied I've been with them. The twins were probably the hardest and I'll likely still need to tweak them since they're both supposed to be Rock-type (Double battle where they make use of sandstorm) but I can see why you were mistaken, the quality of their art is probably the worst, and all the gems on their clothes (which are unique and unlike normal outfits you'd see, which is different from the other Gym Leaders) weren't drawn well or detailed enough to convey they're meant to be gems. The green one is a fashion designer.
Other than that, the "Steel" guy is actually supposed to be flying, I thought it would be more obvious with his eyebrows and mustache resembling clouds but I guess I have more work to do their. The shoulder pads are meant to resemble the wings of an airplane. They were meant to be the one fantastical yet impractical aspect of a Pokemon character design that tied it together, but maybe it fell flat?
Appreciate your feedback on "Poison" girl, but she's meant to be Dark. I can definitely see where you got Poison from though, considering I added purple parts to her pants and made her jacket dark purple as well, but that was my attempt to try to make the design less monochrome and add a splash of color, guess it backfired.
I can see why the shoe wrappings would be a bit much but Pokemon characters are known for having the weirdest shoes lol, I wanted to try to keep that in tact somewhat.
I'm curious, what do you mean by derivative for the electric one? I guess she's similar to Iono in some ways (Unfortunate since I first conceptualized this character in 2020) but I specifically tried to make her face look unique compared to other Pokemon characters. Is she just derivative in general when compared to anime characters?
