At times I wish he was more self aware and precise with his explanations. Overall a pretty good video though. Pokemon discussion on the internet is usually fucking terrible, elaboration is sorely needed.

this ones pretty good, i found the BDSP analysis to be quite the step down where he basically just says "Diamond & Pearl were fun games and these games are fun too, it'd be easy for me to criticize them as someone who doesn't understand game development but that wouldn't be fair"

It’s fairly in-depth as one would expect from the runtime and goes over some points rarely discussed elsewhere.
It’s good for what it is so it really comes down to if you think listening to someone talk about OR for 7 hours straight is a good use of your time or not.

The game has potentially hundreds of hours of stuff to do, and that's coming from someone who dislikes ORAS. 7 hours of explanation is very distilled.

I would say not really? It isnt even because his points are bad or anything, but its in that walkthrough point to point format that I just find really grating to watch. He just goes through the game and describes everything he sees, rather than formulating a thesis based on what he played and analyzing it that way. It's just a pretty schlocky way to go about reviewing a game.

It isn't bad, on top of ORAS itself it goes over pretty much every facet of the mainline, up to gen 6 anyway. Probably some criticisms of the series overall are a bit outdated, but at the time I found it agreeable.
I didn't like his other long analysis as much since like half of it is just pondering over points he made during the ORAS video and how his opinion had changed or was wrong or some such.
