>>58075834I'm inclined to disagree. DP Lucian and Bertha were much more difficult in original DP due to how much weaker your mons were in those games. This meant that Hippowdon and Bronzong were originally far more difficult to bring down before becoming jobbers in Platinum. Will's difficulty stems the few answers to psychic spam you have access to, and you might not have even evolved your Eevee by that point. While Phoebe and Drake are capable of fighting back in Emerald, they're more difficult in original RS due to the lower trainer count, and therefore less experience to go around. Phoebe's second Dusclops is a tank with strong ghost/ground/ice coverage that can easily 1v1 a cursed or confused ace while Drake's Salamence could 2HKO your out if it gets paralyzed by a stray dragon breath earlier in the fight. Two Flygons is also better than Flygon + Kingdra if you didn't go out of your way to grab ice beam.
