I think it's really just that most users on the Internet these days are zoomers now (plus way too many gen alpha kids but that's a different issue). They don't even know any of the stuff he did before. And I'm not blaming them for it, all the stuff he did is very much a "product of its time", pretty sure they wouldn't even like it.
But I guess Jack Black wants it that way anyway. I mean he threw his fucking decade old friendship with Kyle Gass away over bullshit. Seems like he got exactly what he wanted, which is cultural relevancy that is more or less completely detached from his old fame. But it feels weird to me personally cause he seems a different person to me, and most people only know that "version" of him and not the one I know.
In other words, I'm mostly just being an old ass.
