Everyone in the academy knows this, and Penny is just as intimidated by Nemona as Arven is. He's also somewhat guarded about his own past, snapping at Penny when she first asked him about it, which started their argument in Area Zero before they made up and Nemona's autism took center stage.

He disliked her because she's an annoying battle maniac. He said that she repeatedly kicked his ass back when Mabosstiff was still healthy.
Also, he was probably envious of her being accomplished and well known at the academy for her own achievements, while everyone knows him for being "the professor's son" and nothing else. But that's mostly headcanon.

Also, if he was racist, he wouldn't like the MC either. They are very obviously a foreigner.

At the beginning of the treasure hunt, he's aggro to her because he's worried she'll distract you from helping him, and he's desperate for help. Also, he already knew Nemona and finds her battle obsession annoying. He said that she always defeated him before Mabosstiff got injured.

Have you tried playing the game before concluding things about a character from said game?

I always interpreted it as him being jelly at Nemona for being famous for what she did and not because of her parents
People only know Arven because of his mom/dad, there's several NPCs who mention that but don't even know his name but everyone knows who Nemona is and what she did
Also he was scared that Nemona would steal (You) away from him

Gen 5 for sure. Reading the leaks and seeing that they only ever considered N when writing the game was telling. The protagonist is basically just there to be the first guy with pokemon that N ran into when Ghetsis let him outside, since the vast majority of people aren’t horribly abusive to pokemon in this universe.

It's honestly really annoying. Not the she says Spanish words, but rather the fact that absolutely no one else does. I wouldn't mind if other characters did it too but ONLY Nemona? What the fuck were they thinking? The translators are hacks. They change way too much shit.
