Maybe bring back some of the scrapped ideas and content from during the planning and development of the original Red and Green, and redo the Pokedex to include Johto's babymons that evolve into Kantomons, perhaps even add some of the scrapped Pokemon from that generation, add the Sevii Islands, etc... Basically take what FireRed and LeafGrean/Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee did and really run with it, mixing the old and familiar with the new and exciting.
