1000 interpretations could be made about this graph, it actually is very insightful. where the peak sets of the time are. where sets like team up, cosmic eclipse, and other tag team sets are more graded than other sets released during this time. as well as shining legends for S&M
Looking at the XY era flashfire is already going for 15k a booster box and it fits the criteria, its the most graded of that era and is the chase booster box of that time, clearly.
it also appears that BW and D&P are clearly the scarcest of cards in pristine condition in the bigger picture and could ultimately be the most undervalued cards of the set, but i guess thats more dependent on if collectors really held sealed boosters from this window of time, but i doubt it with how little was graded during this era in the first place.
you can also see that HGSS Triumphant and Platinum Supreme Victors being strong sets that people wanted to grade
as far as the gen 1-3 having already a strong grade population, there may not be much opprotunity there for investing in booster boxes.
but all this analysis is given that the supply is less than the demand out there. you could infer that people are not demanind them now.....but what happens when the now changes and they are in demand like flashfire which was probably a 3k booster box 5 years ago now going for 15k?
there is so much data hidden in plain sight on this graph that a investor could make wise decisions on what to dump 10k into, but you still want to hypershill modern that is graded to the moon. where 17 sets have a population of 50k or more in a PSA 10 quality.
