but no, pokemon had soul until gen 4. Maybe we can streach it to X/Y.. back then a new pokemon game felt like an EVENT.. you went to the store to pick your PHYSICAL copy something you can touch, and see other actual PEOPLE MADE OF FLESH going to the store with the same goal as you aka buying the new pokemon.. pkms like mew jirachi celebi shaymin (mythical pokemon) felt special becuase you NEEDED to do something irl to get them, now there's almost nothing that separate them from the rest of the 103383 pokemons.
The music, the art, the insiparition behind the games has dropped drastically with the introduction of 3d. Its not just pokemon its almost every media has gone shit after like 2013. And its so frustrating because people reduce it to "oh you just became an adult" but no, something else happened and thats why todays games music anime and movies are all just soulless. and pokemon is just one of the myriads example of that. I stand my case.
