In legends arceus some pokemon will find a way to run away from the fight
You’re not “forcing” them to do anyway you’re telling them what they should do and then they do it, they don’t have to do anything just bc you caught it.

Reminds me - PETA vocally is against shearing sheeps. Something that is VERY important part of making sure that sheeps are healthy, because in contrary to most animals they don't drop fur and ever growing wool can lead to serious infections and overheating.
They literally are fighting to force farmers to abuse their animals.

Other , weaker, Pokémon are utterly unable to resist a trainer's commands. You can tell them to do tons of shit that will decrease their happiness and they'll still do it.

There has been a significant shift over the years. Old Pokémon games said that it was dangerous to travel into the grass, and trainers had whips.
It was only much later that "no actually all pokémon approach you because they want to be caught and absolutely love following your orders, of their own free will I promise!" shit started popping up to avoid backlash without considering the broader ramifications of implementing such changes.

Whips that were unreferenced outside of sprite art from a more prototypical era of the games. Nothing in the initial gens actually implied you were forcing Pokemon to fight against their will or interests. You need to consider McAfee's Maxim: If a creature can sufficiently brutally kill you the second it does not consent to what you are doing, one must recognize the lack of brutal killing thereof indicates consent.
