You'll get called all sorts of things, or worse yet, mark yourself as a target to be physically beaten. That's why after elementary school, I kept my interest in Pokemon a secret... at my elementary school, back when Red and Blue and the TCG were the hottest new things, it was cool to openly be a Pokemaniac, but beyond that, it doesn't become "cool" again until college.
