Having Champions as a consistent, growing platform just means they don’t have to re-invent the wheel every generation for comp. No more worrying about every single item being available in every single game, no more worrying about every single shop and service (EV checker, IV checker, move tutor, every TM, etc, etc.) being in every single game. Same goes for not being pressed to design a regional roster for both story and comp. Now, Champions will have everything. Every Pokemon (eventually), every item, every move, every ability, every animation, every training tool… and they can just stop worrying about that in mainline games. Instead, they can just focus on making fun games to send new Pokemon from once you complete them. It’s a win for devs and players.
