There's arguments that other characters designed in the same style of "slightly complicated traveling clothes with a baseball cap" like Gold or Hilbert do it better, but they're all pretty solid. I'd like to bring up the mildly controversial statement that the SM male protagonist is just zoomer Red, like he actually looks like an 11 year old that thinks a character like Red or Ash or whatever is the coolest thing but doesn't want to dress exactly like them so it's his favorite normal shirt and baseball cap. This still puts him above somebody like Ruby, who is a bit all over the place, the USUM main protagonist who looks like he's on vacation despite moving to the tropical region, or the SS protagonist who is a zoomer but in the derogatory way. And then you've got a lower tier of guys who look kinda like fags like Calem or especially both versions of Lucas. And of course the special spot in hell for Nate, dude looks like an absolute retard, fuck him. Much like in game design terms I'm hesitant to rank SV's protagonist because they're in a school uniform but I think he's in a shitty school uniform and I feel bad that he has to dress like that almost all the time, poor kid. The hat especially sucks on that uniform, and I'm pretty sure it's part of the uniform because that one NPC that looks like he's been held back for 20 years seems to be wearing one (I hope it's not a "same hat!" situation),
