I'm 50/50 of the Battle Tree guest characters.They're clearly just meant to be cameos without much importance, but not giving them new designs was indeed lazy as hell.
I certainly do see your point, at how it is a "risk", but if they're gonna keep making sequels like this, if the timeline is gonna keep moving, it's a problem they will not be able to avoid forever. For example, if whenever we get Legends Alola, and it's sequel, are we seriously not gonna see Lillie come back from Kanto? How about Legends Unova and Emmet doesn't even appear or gets brought-up even once? That'd be utterly inane and you know it.
Not bringing back old characters is a definitive miss decision on GF's part. It was already bad enough that the cameos stopped happening on the normal games, now they're not even gonna happen on proper sequels? Just silly.
