Not gonna lie it might be better to use an emulator with an imported save, especially since you can use PKheX if need be.
I don't understand why they wouldn't go with Razor Leaf which is practically a guaranteed crit in Gen 1 unless that's one of the glitches they fixed.
But yeah, Legacy definitely changes the enemy teams which I don't think is necessary. The base game is already hard enough as is with shit like Lt.Surges' surfing Pikachu and Raichu or that one dude in Pika Cup who has a fucking Dragonair at level 15 that cheeses you with Dragon Rage and parahax despite Dragonair itself not being available as a rental.
Or...HER...that FUCKING LASS in Petit Cup with a Level 30 Eevee that constantly spams Sand Attack and if you're using rentals then it's 5 levels higher than anything you have.
It got to the point where I got paper and a pencil, wrote down all the team's for the NPCs I'd fought up to the Semifinals, came up with the best countermeasures I could amongst the rentals, got Continues for most of my fights and literally clasped my hands together before each fight with her and prayed that she'd use Kabuto instead.
