"わたしたちわ このあなで くらし せいかつしそして いきてきた" (In this cave we have lived AND SURVIVED.)
The English localisation “In this cave we have lived” is certainly not wrong because the meaning of “いきてきた” depends on context, but I think it can be interpreted as “lived on” or “survived” here. It sounds like something almost killed those who lived in the cave.
(In front of a wall) “Use Dig here”
“First comes Wailord. Last comes Relicanth.”
(After examining the wall again, the ground will shake violently and all three seals will be broken.)
Why Dig? And why specifically Wailord and Relicanth?
"Stop and wait. Wait for time to pass twice."
As far as I know, this is the only instance in the series in which you are required to wait without doing anything.
"With new time, hope and love, aim to the sky in the middle."
“New time, hope and love” and “aim to the sky”? The wording sounds strange doesn’t it? Why not just ask the player to use fly in the middle?
The popular interpretation goes as following:
Dig = digging an air-raid shelter.
Wailord represents the bomb Fat Man and Relicanth, the bomb Little Boy.
Violent earthquake = explosion(s). People who stayed in the shelter survived.
Wait for time to pass twice means waiting for the two bombs to explode.
With new time, hope and love, aim to the sky most likely is a reference to leaving the shelter with hope for the future after the war or possibly entrusting hope to future generations.
