>>58186712It's not the worst type in Gen 5. It was in Gen 3, arguably, though, since Poison was really bad that gen too. In Gen 5 it had STAB U-turn, STAB Mega Horn, and Quiver Dance alongside actually having resistances (unlike Ice) while actually hitting types for SE (unlike Poison).
It's a bad type, don't get me wrong, but not the worst. If Ghost lost its resistance to Bug, it would be on par with other mediocre types like Psychic, pre-Knock-Off-buff Dark, and Grass.
In Gen 5, Bug is still a slight bit better than Rock, Ice, and Poison.
